Canada Bridges’ is pleased to announce that out 2014/15 Unveiling Youth Potential (UYP) 2.0 will officially begin on October 8, 2014!
UYP 2.0 will aim to empower youth, aged 18 to 30, to be an agent of change by supporting the development of their capacities to respond to the conditions of their environment. The UYP 2.0 will provide space and tools for youth to learn how to make meaningful change, engage with life and build leadership skills.
Topics that will be discussed this year include Environment & Outdoor Living, Food, Energy & Financial Systems, Culture & Identity and Healthy Relationships.
We will be meeting twice a month on Wednesday evenings from October 2014 to June 2015. Each month we will explore a new topic through field trips, chatting with experts, and participating in workshop activities. Themes will be interlaced the Unveiling Youth Potential concepts of:
- Wisdom Stories: the relationship with self to reveal insight into your identity and purpose
- Community Mapping: the relationship with your community
- Change Leadership: the relationship with change and how to practically equip yourself to lead change within yourself and your community
- Social Entrepreneurship: designing initiatives and plans that will contribute to positive community change
