The Train the Trainer program is for those interested in running, or leveraging, Bridges Social Development’s leadership development and human capacity building programs in their own communities. As Bridges Social Development’s mandate is to build the capacity of community, professional, and youth leaders through education, training and mentorship, we acknowledge that the more groups there are who are doing this work, the better.
Train the Trainer is an experiential program that, like all Bridges Social Development programming, is specifically adapted for the group with whom we are working. It consists of training, practical application, and facilitated discussion of the components that are foundational to our organization’s approach: Wisdom Stories (who am I and why do I wanted to lead change in my community?); Community Mapping (who/where is the community that I care about?); Change Leadership (how do I lead change in my community?); and Social Entrepreneurship (what specifically can I do to lead change in my community?). Participants of Train the Trainer are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to run Bridges Social Development’s programs in their own communities, and if they choose, may remain connected to our organization for ongoing mentorship and support. All resources and materials that support Bridges Social Development’s programming and approach are available on an open-source basis for use by those who are interested in applying them in their own communities; these resources can be accessed by visiting our Training Materials page.
