Canada Bridges partnered with Siksika Employment Training Services (SETS) again this year to run the 8th Meaningful Futures Program.

In 2017 we have organized two film camps, in Siksika and in Calgary. Overall our Film Camps were a success, with 21 youth attended both camps.

Paying for and education and living life of a student is a pain. Sometimes if you can not be approved for funding there are other alternatives like scholarships & bursaries, and student loans.

On a beautiful sunny day Kyle and I decided to go for coffee. We spoke about many things, including Kyle`s motivations and passions in life.

With another year of organizing and hosting AYE under our belts, the Bridges’ team is able to take some time to reflect on the challenges, success and impact this event has on the youth who participated, the audience and the community.

AYE is our annual event generously sponsored this year by Suncor Energy and Community Foundations of Canada for Canada’s 150th.

We are thinking about changing the name of the Aboriginal Youth Explosion and would love to hear your input, ideas or recommendations on what that new name should be.

Canada Bridges is currently designing and testing a new mentorship model to assist Indigenous youth and young adults who are moving from reserve life to the City of Calgary.
