Participants will take part in a guided tour led by an Indigenous facilitator, learning about the significance of the land, Indigenous ways of knowing, and Blackfoot culture and history. Drawing on these teachings, youth will then create their own community maps, reflecting on the places, people, and experiences that foster belonging and strengthen community.
This interactive workshop encourages creativity, cultural learning, and meaningful conversations while providing participants with a deeper understanding of place, identity, and connection.
For Indigenous youth, mapping can be a meaningful way to think about land, relationships, culture, and our connections to place, making those things that can sometimes feel abstract or difficult to explain more visible and tangible.
