Canada Bridges is proud to announce that it has achieved accreditation through Imagine Canada’s Standards Program, joining a national network of more than 280 accredited charitable and nonprofit organizations committed to strong governance, accountability, transparency and operational excellence.
Imagine Canada accreditation recognizes organizations that demonstrate strong practices across five key areas: board governance, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising, human resources, and volunteer engagement.
For Canada Bridges, this achievement represents an important milestone in its continued growth as an Indigenous-led organization.
"This is a major achievement for Canada Bridges. It reflects years of work to strengthen our governance, financial accountability, fundraising practices, staff and volunteer systems, risk management, and transparency," says Executive Director Spirit River Striped Wolf.
"More importantly, it reflects our commitment to becoming an Indigenous-led organization that is not only grounded in relationship, protocol, and community accountability, but also externally accountable in a way that funders, partners, public institutions, and the charitable sector can recognize and trust."
Canada Bridges joins a national network of accredited organizations that includes UNICEF Canada, YMCA Canada, The Boys & Girls Club of Canada, and Calgary Stampede Foundation.
Imagine Canada accreditation provides partners, funders, governments, and Treaty 7 Indigenous communities with confidence that Canada Bridges operates with integrity, transparency, and sound organizational practices while remaining deeply rooted in Indigenous values and ways of knowing.

Since 2002, Canada Bridges has empowered youth across Alberta through storytelling, leadership development, and community-building initiatives. Today, the organization is continuing its transition as an Indigenous-led organization guided by the Indigenous Definitional Matrix (I4DM), centering decolonial policy systems, relationships, and community accountability in everything it does.
Canada Bridges believes that stories have the power to build bridges of understanding, strengthen relationships, and create spaces where every person is recognized for their gifts, wisdom, and potential.
