Storytelling and Sensory Box Story Jam is being held at Calgary Central Library Room 0-14 Meeting Room. Story Jam is free and open to everyone.

Disa and Sikapinakii are world changers and we can't wait hear their wisdom stories. Disa Crow Chief is from Siksika and an advocate for environmental/humanitarian rights and values. As well as a decolonizing and supporting mental wellness.

Sikapinakii is a fine arts graduate student at the University of Calgary completing her thesis on Blackfoot cowboys. As well they were named  Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess this year!

What are sensory boxes?  A box of calming sensory based items to help relieve stress and provide all different types of needed sensory stimulation. They are a fun assortment of sensory items to help you relax and self-regulate. Sensory boxes are perfect for anyone who benefits from a little extra sensory input throughout their day or to help improve ability to focus and concentrate!

There will be few activities that are open to participation and we want to create a brave space to bring our best reflection and intention to the table.  A promise - we will completely respect your privacy and comfort level with sharing. We welcome your sharing, but no worries if you are not comfortable with that or moved to do so. We are happy for you to simply come and share this experience with us!

Story Jam workshops are spaces for anyone to experience storytelling in new ways and hang out with an amazing community of storytellers. Story Jams are led by BIPOC Youth and are free and open to all ages.  Story Jam is made possible by our sponsor Suncor Energy. Thank You!
