You Are Invited! Stories Connect Us on Aug 6

"The Universe is made of stories, not of atoms." - Muriel Rukeyser

Hey Friends!

If we were to stop and reflect over the last couple of months, have you grown? Have you changed? Have you learned things about yourself and/or your community? These experiences and wisdom have so much value when spoken and shared.

Join us for some Story sharing and a space to connect. August 6th at 7pm, Pelletier Medel will be hosting a Zoom Story Jam, sharing a bit of her journey and how she found community and connection through storytelling. Pelletier is one of our Youth staff here at Bridges and is the AYE coordinator. She shares that her passion for storytelling and youth empowerment really started when she shared her story for the first time at AYE 2013. Pelletier saw the ripple effects of how vulnerability leads to others being able to share their stories, creating brave spaces for healing, learning, joy and empowerment.

A lot of us might be feeling the loss of connection due to the recent current events and we want to open up space to chat about these things and share the new wisdoms we've gained through this year.

Story Jam's are for anyone and everyone to come together and build a community around the power of youth stories. We believe that through sharing stories we are able to create connections and more fully recognize the potential in each other and ourselves. This event will be a space not only for you to listen to storytellers but also be one yourself. We welcome your sharing, but no worries if you are not comfortable with that or moved to do so. We are happy for you to simply come and share this experience with us!
